Emergency lighting maintenance

In the event of an emergency power loss at your property, you have a responsibility for the safe evacuation of everyone on the premises. And in order to comply with current fire safety legislation and British standards, your organisation must provide and maintain adequate lighting for all escape routes.

This includes regular, complete and thorough maintenance of systems and equipment in line with your specifications. This includes monthly tests known as flick tests to simulate a power outage; annual full duration tests (at least one hour) in which the primary lighting circuit should be switched off; battery discharge tests every six months in which batteries should be discharged for one third of their full duration; and recharge monitoring to ensure batteries fully recharge within the manufacturer's specified time.
