BSI are celebrating the release of the revised BS 7974 Fire Safety Engineering series with a launch event on Tuesday 4 April from 10:30am - 1:30pm at Arup offices, 8 - 13 Fitzroy Street, Bloomsbury, London W1T 4BQ.

The launch event will be industry led and will involve the following panel speakers: Dr Peter Wilkinson, Dr Danny Hopkin, Dr Roger Harrison, Mr Dave Berry, Dr David Purser, Mr Nigel Hiorns.  

This British Standard and its accompanying PDs provides a framework for an engineering approach to the fire safety of buildings. BS 7974 gives recommendations and guidance on applying scientific and engineering principles to the protection of people, property and the environment from fire. The series applies to the design of new buildings and the appraisal of existing buildings.

This launch event will provide attendees with the key changes within the new standard in comparison to previous versions and allow users to meet and discuss their comments with the Chairmen of the drafting panels.
